The Canadian government introduced a new computerized immigration system in January 2015 that enables qualifying individuals to express entry into Canada.
Applications for permanent residence from immigrants who can fill positions where there aren’t enough competent Canadian employees available will be managed under the new Express Entry program.
What are the qualifications required to apply?
Even if they do have certain selection criteria, anyone may submit their profile and perhaps get chosen. So, this is excellent news. Of course, having a job offer in hand puts you in a better position to qualify, but that doesn’t guarantee that you won’t be chosen if you don’t. This is very promising, and as immigration attorneys, it is now our duty to draw attention to and accentuate the positive aspects of our clients’ applications in an effort to persuade the government that they would be suitable candidates for immigration and selection. So, this is excellent news in my book.
Many people who would not have been taken into account under the previous system are now able to effect and contribute to the Canadian economy. When I mentioned, I think this is wonderful news and I am looking forward to assisting applicants as they submit their applications through the new Express Entry System. So, maybe this has inspired optimism in you as well, and don’t give up!
